Sage X3 fuels the workflows that help Skagit Horticulture thrive

Skagit Horticulture - United States

Wholesale grower unites operations on one platform – increasing efficiencies and scaling for business expansions.

Sowing the seeds of success

Following a merger with another grower to form a larger operation with five locations across Washington and California, Skagit Horticulture began shopping for a new ERP application. It needed an ERP with broad industry capabilities combined with manufacturing, inventory control, and financial management.

At our core, we’re a manufacturing operation, and Sage X3 has by far the strongest manufacturing capabilities."

Improved forecasting

Improved forecasting

The growing season in the Pacific Northwest is short – 20 weeks - so growers must plan and plant wisely. In the past, the company struggled with demand planning, planting primarily on speculation and experience, but with Sage X3, the wholesale grower has brought data into the planning process resulting in better accuracy and more confidence.

Improved sales forecasting, combined with our ability to monitor what customers have on their shelves, allows us to maximize revenue and optimize deliveries."

Seed to sale visibility

Sage X3 has given Skagit Horticulture real-time visibility into its entire plant inventory. Employees use tablet computers and scanners in the field to record plant heights, select products for shipping, and record merchandise as they load plants onto trucks for delivery. Without accurate information, they risk overpromising or being left with excess stock that goes to waste.

With Sage X3 we know what we have on hand and when it’s ready ; it gives us confidence in our decisions, allowing us to better serve our customers and maximize revenue."
