A man pointing out something to a lady

2019 has nearly come to a close and what an incredible year it has been! Take a trip down memory lane with us as we recap our favorite highlights from the past 12 months.

We kicked off the year with FORTUNE announcing that Sage Intacct was named one of the Best Workplaces for Diversity on its 2019 list. This annual list, compiled by FORTUNE and longtime research partner Great Place to Work, identifies companies in the U.S. with the very best workplace experiences according to the diverse colleagues who work there.

In February, Taylor Macdonald, Senior Vice President of Channel Sales for Sage Intacct, was named to CRN’s list of 2019 Channel Chiefs. At Sage, Macdonald is responsible for managing the Value Added Reseller (VAR) and CPA channel initiatives for Sage Intacct. Macdonald was also once again named a 2019 Channel Chief, and a Top Channel Champion for five consecutive years.

Early in the year we were thrilled to host the Modern SaaS Finance Summit Event in Silicon Valley. CFOs, Controllers, investors, and investment bankers all came together to build a powerful community focused on how to grow a SaaS company to $100M. Attendees not only learned from leading investors and successful peers, they also sat with and learned from peers with similar stage companies and billing models, going through similar issues as they grow. Here are four takeaways from the event.

Global market intelligence firm IDC named Sage Intacct a Leader in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Cloud and SaaS ERP Accounts Receivables and Accounts Payables Applications 2018-2019 Vendor Assessment. The report focused on how digital transformation is fundamentally changing financial applications and allowing businesses to transform their decision making. Check out a recap of the IDC MarketScape Report here.

Additionally, Sage Intacct once again earned two Top Rated Awards from TrustRadius in the Accounting & Budgeting category and the ERP category. Sage Intacct also appeared as a Market Leader in the FeaturedCustomers Winter 2019 Customer Success Report for the Accounts Payable Software Category. Check out that update here!

In March, FORTUNE and Great Place to Work honored the Sage Intacct office in San Jose as one of the 2019 Best Workplaces in the Bay Area. The Sage Intacct office ranked in the Top 20 for medium-sized companies, those with between 10-999 employees. This marked the fourth straight year on this coveted list, and the ranking considered more than 30,000 employee surveys from companies across the San Francisco Bay Area.

In April, Sage appointed Aaron Harris to the role of Chief Technology Officer, reporting to Chief Executive Officer Steve Hare as part of his Executive Committee. This new role saw Harris expand his responsibilities to develop the technology strategy across Sage Business Cloud. One of the founding leaders of Sage Intacct, Harris led the company’s product vision and technology direction throughout the growth of the company, establishing Sage Intacct as the innovation leader in cloud financial management solutions.

In May, Gartner recognized Sage Intacct in its new Critical Capabilities report. Sage Intacct scored the highest product score (4.63 out of five) for Core Financials for the Lower Midsize Enterprises use a case in the 2019 Gartner report Critical Capabilities for Cloud Core Financial Management Suites for Midsize, Large, and Global Enterprises. This was the third straight year Sage Intacct has scored highest for that use case. As a companion to the Critical Capabilities report, Gartner also released its 2019 Magic Quadrant for Cloud Core Financial Management Suites for Midsize, Large, and Global Enterprises. In the report, Sage Intacct was recognized as a Visionary by Gartner.

In July, Sage Intacct customer Room to Read was named a winner of the 2019 Technology ROI Awards. By deploying Sage Intacct’s best-in-class financial management software, Room to Read achieved a 402 percent return on investment, according to the study by Nucleus Research.

In August,  Sage announced the launch of Sage Intacct in Australia! Sage Intacct is now sold and implemented through value-added resellers, with certified Australian business partners.  UNICEF Australia became the first nonprofit organization to announce their selection of Sage Intacct in Australia, while ASX listed 360 Capital announced the week prior they have already gone live on the platform.

October was a huge month for Sage Intacct as we kicked off the 12th annual Sage Intacct Advantage conference. With more than 3,500 attendees, Advantage 2019 was the largest-ever gathering of Sage Intacct customers and partners.

In November, Sage Intacct announced the channel partners that achieved membership in Sage Intacct’s 2019 President’s Club. This award is given annually by Sage Intacct to its top-performing channel partners, and recognizes value added resellers and Sage Intacct Accountants Program firms for their success. See who won here!

November was a big month for Sage Intacct! Not only did we celebrate the 20th anniversary of Intacct, but we were thrilled to announce that Sage Intacct is now officially being sold locally to UK customers.

Earlier this month, three Sage colleagues were named to Accounting Today’s 2019 list of the Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting. This much-anticipated listing identifies the thought leaders, change-makers, regulators, and other leaders who are shaping the profession. The three Sage colleagues making the list were Aaron Harris, Sage CTO; Taylor Macdonald, SVP of Channels for Sage Intacct; and Ed Kless, senior director of partner development and strategy for Sage.

Finally, Sage CTO, Aaron Harris, closed off a great year and sat down to discuss key use cases where AI and machine learning can help the accounting industry, developing trends, what to do with the data that AI provides, and why it’s an incredibly exciting time to be a part of this industry.

What a phenomenal year to flashback to! Thank you for being along for the (blogging) ride, and we can’t wait to kick off 2020! Cheers and happy holidays!
