Ronald McDonald House gets its accounting in order with Sage

Ronald McDonald House - BC & Yukon - Canada

Charitable family accommodation provider gains the ability for leaders to access financial data themselves through smart customisable dashboards within Sage Intacct.

Deficiencies in old system no longer palatable

Prior to transitioning to Sage Intacct, Ronald McDonald House BC & Yukon realised the deficiencies with its legacy accounting system were becoming more prominent. VP of Finance Yan-Yan Lee says she was having to do “a lot of data scraping and analysis using Excel spreadsheets” and knew they needed a cloud-based system with “ease of use for non-accountants.”

We landed on Sage Intacct because of two very big criteria—the support from Sage and our implementer, plus the ongoing technical support.

Empowering managers to source their own data

Since going live with Sage Intact, Ronald McDonald House BC & Yukon has already gained the benefit of having customisable dashboards available for department managers and team leads. This has given them real time data that’s easily accessible at their fingertips.

Managers and leaders are able to access information relevant to them and no longer have to hunt down accounting to request any details relevant to their needs.

Impressive dimensions and time savings

Sage Intacct’s built-in dimensions have been very helpful for Ronald McDonald House in segmenting its various reporting requirements, such as fund accounting where it needs to segment restricted versus unrestricted funds.  Yan-Yan also estimates time savings of around 30% through end users now sourcing their own data.

Users are able to access information directly from Sage Intacct and then ask us questions, as opposed to us spending time collecting data to give to the users.
