PAWS Chicago rescues its financial management with Sage Intacct

Animal welfare nonprofit adopts Sage software to streamline its financial processes and get a clearer view on where it's heading.

Nonprofit outgrows basic accounting software

With the nonprofit growing in size, PAWS Chicago’s management team needed a better way to track the separate financials for the multiple programs it runs, while still producing the standard nonprofit tax reports. Its chart of accounts had become overly complex, with little in the way of managerial reporting possible from its QuickBooks solution.

We chose Sage Intacct over NetSuite because it perfectly fit the way we wanted to manage our organization.

New software has finance team wagging its tail

By using the robust modules in Sage Intacct, the PAWS Chicago finance team avoids double-entry between systems and enjoys improved financial controls. This adds up to the team saving around two full days in the monthly close process and another day on cash reconciliations.

We’re all now able to focus on more value-added projects vs. just churning through month-end and tedious payables.

Reporting back to donors

With Sage Intacct, the organization can now report by department, by program, and by fund type to see where money is going and showcase the achievements that PAWS Chicago has made towards its mission.

The new insights mean we can effortlessly report more detailed, accurate information back to our donors.
